Poetry Drawer: Soul Writer by Claire Bassi

I spent an hour in your eyes, yearning,

Imagining oceans, page-turning,

Following veins to your wrists, green-lining,

Widen to rivers, hoping they lead to words,

Taking your path, typing.

You sat, silent by my side,

Unpicking possibilities, firing my soul,

Keeping me guessing, waiting.

Unpacking troubles.
